The Open Subsurface Data Universe is a first-of-its-kind cross-industry effort to address an age-old problem for the energy sector by combining implementation industry-level data standards (in collaboration with other industry consortia such as Energistics & PPDM) with a standard reference architecture designed to provide unprecedented access to data, which has historically been a tremendous hindrance to unlocking the untapped potential for innovative analysis & collaboration. In addition to the transformational impact of unprecedented access to data & business workflow optimization, Microsoft’s vision for and contribution to these partnerships are providing a foundation upon which industry-altering analytics capability can be realized.
